Palmarola is the one of the Pontine Islands, an archipelago off the Italian coast located in the bay of Naples, between Rome and Naples. It is mainly uninhabited especially during the winter months. Many visitors come to pay homage to the St Silvrius shrine located on the far end on top of the mountain.
